About the role

Our largest enterprise clients need their content to flow from code repositories and CMS platforms into our platform and back, and to work when it gets there. As Senior Pre-Sales Engineer, you'll make that happen in a dual role that combines pre-sales engineering and solutions architecture. You won't just suggest a solution; you'll design it, build the proof of concept, and show clients how it delivers outcomes that help them grow globally. You'll be the primary technical architect for our largest enterprise accounts and the technical partner to the Strategic Account Managers and Business Development Directors in your region, working closely with Sales, Delivery, Product, and Engineering, and reporting to our VP, Sales. You'll do well here if you're as comfortable in a terminal as you are in a client presentation.

What you'll do

  • Act as the technical authority in the sales cycle for the Strategic Accounts and Business Development teams, presenting confidently to senior client leaders and enterprise IT teams, and lead product demos of our platform.
  • Lead requirements workshops with enterprise clients to define integration points, data models, and orchestration patterns, and produce technical blueprints and data-flow diagrams that balance security, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Design, implement, and improve end-to-end workflows that connect translation management systems (TMS) and Acclaro technology with client content management systems (CMS), document management systems (DMS), and other core enterprise platforms, and advise on API architecture, webhooks, and secure middleware development.
  • Build proofs of concept that validate proposed solutions and win client buy-in.
  • Deploy our content intelligence workflows, combining our platform, large language models, and human-in-the-loop feedback cycles, to deliver measurable outcomes and faster turnaround for clients.
  • Turn complex content intelligence architectures into simple, compelling business value for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work with Product and Engineering to follow current trends and develop solutions for customer needs, and with Delivery and Operations to confirm technical viability, align Sales expectations with what we can deliver, and make sure handover and execution go smoothly.
  • Keep improving our processes by automating manual QA gates and removing technical bottlenecks in the content lifecycle.

What you'll bring

  • typically 7+ years of progressive experience in localization engineering, pre-sales engineering, or solutions architecture at a large language service provider (LSP), language technology vendor, or global tech company, or equivalent experience
  • excellent communication across functions, with the ability to align Sales, Delivery, Product, and Engineering teams, linguists, and project managers
  • confidence handling complex enterprise procurement and IT security discussions
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including turning complex manual processes into simple, automated ones
  • a clear understanding of content intelligence, where the question is moving from "did we deliver it?" to "did it work?", and the ability to design and sell solutions for that shift

Nice to have

  • Deep, hands-on knowledge of at least two enterprise TMS platforms, such as Phrase, Lokalise, Trados Enterprise, Smartling, XTM, or memoQ
  • Hands-on experience designing or scoping translation workflows that combine machine translation, large language models, and human-in-the-loop review
  • Development skills: at least one scripting language (such as Python, JavaScript, or Ruby) for automation, Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines, and regular expressions (regex) and XPath for advanced text extraction
  • Expert knowledge of localization standards, including XLIFF, TMX, TBX, and SRX
  • An understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and data privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA
  • If you have some of these, great. If you don't, we'd still like to hear from you.

Who we are

At Acclaro, we're more than a localization company — we're a content intelligence solutions company, and a global team of language enthusiasts, cultural connectors, and technology innovators. Our mission is to help brands speak the world's languages and resonate deeply across cultures by blending human expertise with cutting-edge technology, delivered through a follow-the-sun model that keeps our teams moving around the clock and around the globe.

With over two decades of experience, we support some of the world's most recognizable brands in expanding their global reach. And we're scaling: we've been making material investments in our own AI-native platform, one that's already reshaping how our business — and the localization industry more broadly — works. Join us on our journey to be the model localization company of the next decade, one that's loved by clients, colleagues, and communities alike.

How we work

Our values shape how we work with customers, colleagues, and partners. Here's what you can expect from us, and what we'll look for in you.

  • Be Accountable. We own our work, learn from our mistakes, and come with solutions.
  • Be Proud. We care about the work, hold a high standard, and celebrate each other's wins.
  • Be Resilient. When things get hard, we stay calm, adapt, and ask for help when we need it.
  • Be Curious. We ask why, keep learning, share what we know, and explore new ways of working, including AI.
  • Be Kind. We assume good intent, give honest feedback with care, and look out for each other.

Inclusion and equal opportunity

Acclaro is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. All employment decisions are made based on qualifications, merit, and business needs.
