You know how to turn a technical SEO diagnosis into measurable growth. You’re equally comfortable digging into the details, setting priorities and helping clients understand what to do next.

Smart, Savvy + Associates is pleased to partner with a digital growth agency in their search for a Senior SEO, ASO and AI Search Specialist.

Working with established international brands, you’ll lead organic growth strategy across multiple client accounts. SEO is the core of this role, complemented by app store optimization, AI search, content strategy and YouTube optimization.

You’ll join an experienced team and take over established services, bringing fresh ideas to how the work is delivered. Some clients will rely on you specifically for organic growth. For others, you’ll collaborate with colleagues across paid media, CRM, measurement and conversion optimization.

This is a senior, hands-on opportunity. You’ll develop recommendations, guide implementation and stay close to the results. You’ll have support from writers, designers, developers and video specialists, with responsibility for directing their contributions toward client goals. As you build familiarity with the accounts and earn clients’ trust, the goal is for you to fully own their organic growth strategy and delivery.

What You’ll Do

Lead organic growth strategy

  • Develop and deliver SEO, ASO and AI search plans across multiple client accounts.
  • Prioritize opportunities based on growth potential, effort and urgency.
  • Take technical SEO work from diagnosis through implementation and validation, including crawl, indexing, rendering, site performance and structured data improvements.
  • Protect organic visibility through website launches and migrations.
  • Bring new ideas to established services, testing approaches and using results to guide the next decision.

Improve discovery across channels

  • Manage app store optimization across Apple App Store and Google Play, including keyword targeting, metadata, localization and creative testing.
  • Develop content plans and briefs that connect audience needs, search opportunities and conversion goals.
  • Work with writers and other specialists to improve content quality, on-page SEO and internal linking.
  • Build credible links and brand mentions through editorial outreach, digital PR and relevant partnerships.
  • Guide YouTube topics, titles, descriptions, thumbnails and playlists, using performance data to improve discovery and engagement.
  • Develop and test AI search strategies, monitoring brand mentions and citations while assessing what the data can reliably tell you.

Own client relationships and results

  • Lead client conversations with clear recommendations, progress updates and next steps.
  • Coordinate delivery with internal specialists and client teams.
  • Measure qualified traffic, app installs, engagement and conversions, connecting channel performance to business outcomes.
  • Investigate performance changes and explain findings in clear, practical terms.
  • Use AI tools to support analysis and workflows, checking outputs for accuracy.

What You Bring

  • At least five years of hands-on SEO experience, with the depth and judgment to independently lead strategy and delivery for established brands.
  • Strong technical SEO skills across crawling, indexing, canonicals, redirects, rendering, structured data and site performance.
  • The ability to inspect HTML, implement CMS changes, brief developers and validate deployed fixes.
  • Hands-on ASO experience across Apple App Store and Google Play.
  • Practical experience assessing AI search visibility and testing improvements to content and discoverability.
  • Confidence using Google Search Console, GA4, crawling tools, SEO research platforms and app store analytics.
  • Experience developing content strategies and briefs, with sound editorial judgment and the ability to guide specialist contributors.
  • Experience with YouTube optimization and interpreting discovery, click-through and audience retention data.
  • Confidence leading client discussions, explaining technical issues and taking responsibility for your recommendations.
  • Strong judgment when managing priorities across accounts and coordinating work with a distributed team.
  • Recent examples of work you personally delivered, including what you changed, how you tested it and the results.

Nice to Have

  • Agency experience managing multiple client accounts.
  • Experience with international or multilingual websites and apps, large content libraries, ecommerce or subscription businesses.
  • Experience securing earned links, guest posts and content syndication partnerships.
  • Skills in server log analysis, scripting or workflow automation.
  • Experience leading a team or business unit alongside hands-on delivery.

The Details

🏢 Work model: Fully remote, collaborating with colleagues across Canada, the US, Europe and Asia
🕒 Employment: Full-time
💰 Compensation: CAD $100,000 to $160,000 annually, depending on skills and experience
📈 Potential scope: Depending on your experience, the role may extend to leading the organic growth business unit

If you’re happiest digging into the technical details, curious enough to keep testing what’s possible and ambitious enough to help an experienced team and its world-class clients stay at the forefront of search, we’d love to hear from you.
